Don’t Take It Personal…
In the last few days, artists have just been winning left and right like it’s nothing! First off, my girl SZA announced that her song “Love Galore” from her debut album, CTRL, which just oozed with carefree black girl magic, went Platinum!

DIS SHIT CRAZY! … really don't have jack to say but thank u so much to every single person who ran that shit back to scream at the nigga they didn't have . And speaking of “Love Galore,” SZA also blessed us with a video that just oozes ‘carefree black girl’ and features her dancing on her tour bus to a hidden verse that didn’t make the final cut of the song.
Another well-deserved success recently was when Childish Gambino’s “Redbone” hit Triple Platinum last week! When his album Awaken, My Love! dropped, this song was instantly a favorite and already felt like a classic. Earlier this year, Donald Glover suggested that he would be hanging up his Childish Gambino hat after the release of this album, so if that turns out to be true, at least he left us with this gem.

Make Money Moves!
And last, but most certainly not least, Cardi B has made HISTORY as the second female rapper (after queen Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998) to have a number one record without any features on the Billboard Hot 100 with her Platinum hit “Bodak Yellow.” Now, I have to admit that it took me a minute to warm up to Cardi B, but sis did wear me down with this song, and won me over with her outlandish, yet consistent personality. I’m curious to see how she grows as an artist, and where she takes us with her upcoming album (which is supposedly set to drop in November).
